ANHCA was deeply to saddened at the GE result for Aldershot. This was for many reasons, but a key one was that the constituency would be losing a truly fanastic local representative and dedicated servant, Leo Docherty. As ever, Leo has taken the result in his stride, and would like to pass on the following message to all those that supported him during his time as Aldershot's MP:
Despite the disappointing result at the General Election last Thursday, there was a strong Conservative turnout and great support on the doorstep from local people.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and everyone who voted. It was great to meet and speak with so many people on the campaign trail - including the wonderful residents of Yateley East, which has now been added to the Aldershot constituency.
It has been a huge honour to represent and serve the people of Aldershot, Farnborough, Blackwater and Hawley in Parliament since 2017, and especially to help so many residents overcome problems during my time as your MP.
The Association wishes Leo all the best in the years ahead - we will always be there to support him with his future endeavours, whether political or otherwise.
