Rushmoor Conservatives are delighted that Leo Docherty has been selected as the Conservative candidate for Aldershot in this year's General Election.
On Saturday 1st June, Leo was therefore met by many Association members in the centre of Aldershot to launch his election campaign. As a veteran, Minister for Armed Forces, and a former Minister for Veterans, it was very fitting that Leo chose to fire the starting gun for his campaign at the statue of the Airborne soldier in Princes Garden!
Over the next four weeks, I'll be reporting back from the campaign trail, setting out why I am standing for re-election and why I hope that you will choose to vote for me on Thursday 4 July.
While the national media gets in a frenzy about polls, policy announcements and televised debates, the real hard work ahead of a general election is done by candidates and volunteers on the doorstep.
Delivering leaflets, knocking on doors and walking tens of thousands of steps is still the best way to connect with residents and set out your political stall.
If you would like to join Leo and the team in the coming weeks, please get in touch through this website, or through Facebook via the Rushmoor Conservatives page!
